The organizers of the festivities for Helper City’s Utah Christmas Town activities recently announced that the Grand Marshal for the 2019 Electric Light Parade is local, well-known community member Jim Pugliese.
Pugliese is known as the former Helper City Fire Chief, a position that he served in for 37 years of his life. His son, Paul Pugliese, stated that he was the number one volunteer at the fire department in the state of Utah and diligently worked to ensure prompt response times.
Pugliese, now 92, still resides in Helper City. He diligently worked on the current fire station, land and more before entering into his retirement some time ago.
“He had his heart and soul into it,” Paul stated.
The directors stated that Pugliese is more than deserving of the honor and they are happy to have chosen him as the Grand Marshal for the 30th year of the Helper Electric Light Parade.
As the grand marshal of the parade, Pugliese will be dominantly featured on one of the floats during both evenings. The Electric Light Parade is slated to take place on Friday, Dec. 6 and Saturday, Dec. 7. Each night, the parade will begin at 7 p.m. with fireworks to follow Saturday’s conclusion.
