For the presentation agenda, Axxis Medical Management will have an introduction. It was stated that Axxis’ mission is to provide quality care for patients that have a history of addiction and mental health. A variety of issues ranging from the common cold to medication management is handled and the team believes in ensuring that each patient has access to expertise provided by an addiction specialist.

Axxis was created to fulfill a need of clients that are in recovery and do not have a primary care physician but are in need of medication management. Axxis was put off for a year due to COVID-19, though since opening in Salt Lake, there have been several groups that approached Axxis for expansion.

Currently operated in Salt Lake City, there will be an opening in St. George on May 1 and it was stated that the goal of a location in Price and the surrounding area is on the radar.

The BEAR general meeting will take place on Thursday, May 6 beginning at 8 a.m. The meeting will be both in person at the Southeastern Utah Association of Local Governments atrium and online via Zoom. The atrium is located at 375 South Carbon Avenue in Price and the meeting may be viewed at this link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/85262939769.
