Cottonwood Elementary School played host to its inaugural first responders luncheon on Friday afternoon to honor those that fight for the safety of the community and its members on a daily basis.
“Thank you so much for coming and spending time with us and for letting us celebrate you,” elementary school staff shared.
Principal John Hughes remarked that there were over one dozen first responders that attended the barbecue picnic lunch. Those in attendance were presented with a goodie bag and cards of appreciation from the students. The students thoroughly enjoyed the time spent with the responders, playing games, visiting and eating, Hughes said.
“So many people helped to create a positive and uplifting event,” said Principal Hughes. “We can’t wait to do it again next year.”
A special thanks was given to Mrs. Jenkins in the kitchen, Mrs. Hughes for the banner and cards, and all of the faculty and staff that volunteered their time.
