Price City’s free summer concerts series Culture Connection kicked off their 2024 on Thursday evening in their new, improved location: Washington Park.
The series commenced with a performance by Salt Lake City’s well-known songwriter and artist Peter Breinholt after Councilman Layne Miller introduced Breinholt and his band to the stage to begin the night.
Breinholt’s debut album was named the best-selling independently released CD ever in the state of Utah and has been described “an underground classic” by Salt Lake Magazine. To coincide with the music, many vendors packed into the park as well, selling goods ranging from tamales, donut holes, popcorn and even balloon animals.
Councilman Miller expressed that the new location was a great success with a turnout of over 200 spectators. Culture Connection has been annually held in the Price City Peace Garden, but successfully made the trek uptown this year to Washington Park for a more enjoyable, shady experience in the park. With the new location, there is more room for vendors and spectators while kids can play on the park’s equipment.
For the upcoming Culture Connection on June 20, a performance by Cheri Call will take place once again at Washington Park at 7 p.m. Price City encourages everyone to bring their family, lawn chairs and blankets to enjoy an evening with a great performance.
