The Sunnyside Rodeo has been going for an amazing 74 years. Before the rodeo on July 12 – 13, royalty was announced, as a queen along with attendants and a princess were chosen to receive the honor. The age groups were 13 to 18 to qualify for queen, while 12 and under to qualify for princess. The Sunnyside Rodeo’s Princess may reign for two years, then compete for the Queen’s Court when the reach the right age.

Contestants must ride their horse in a predetermined pattern. When crowned, they will ride in the Community Daze Parade on Friday and assist on moving cattle and sheep in the Sunnyside arena during the rodeo. This year’s winners were Madalynn Whimpey, receiving the honor as Queen. Kenley Taylor was crowned the Queen’s First Attendant, while Katrina Manzanares earned Second Attendant. McCall McElprang was given the honor of Princess.
