Paul Carroll, a member of the Uinta Basin Chapter of the Utah Statewide Archaeological Society, presented on his visit to Petra, Jordan, a tomb used in the Indiana Jones movie, “The Last Crusade”, at the Castle Valley Archaeological Society meeting last night.

Mr. Carroll spoke on his hikes through the Siq, slot canyon, to the Petra Valley where he saw djinn blocks, and many famous tombs including the Treasury, where the Pharaoh supposedly stored his treasure while chasing Moses. This “Treasury” was the tomb used in the Indiana Jones movie.

The Prehistoric museum announced to the Society that they are now looking for volunteers to help with the archeological side of the museum. Anyone interested can contact Yvonne Wilson in the Archeology Lab at 435-613-5765.
