Utah Division of Wildlife Resources Press Release
On June 21, the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources will sponsor its annual Kids’ Fishing Day at the Gigliotti Pond in Helper.
From 8 a.m. until noon, the DWR will lend fishing equipment and bait to those who don’t have their own. The U.S. Forest Service will provide a fishing cleaning station. “Personnel will also be on-hand to help parents and their children have a fun and successful fishing experience,” stated DWR Regional Conservation Outreach Manager Brent Stettler. “Before the event, the pond will be stocked with fish.”
A raffle will be held at noon, and every child who attends will receive a prize.
To get to the pond, drive to Helper and leave U.S. Highway 6 at Martin Street. The pond is at the far end of the street.
Gigliotti Pond is accessible to persons with special needs. There’s a restroom at the pond as well as cement sidewalks and fishing bays.
The event is free of charge. No pre-registration is required.
