The Price American Legion baseball team traveled to Herriman Monday for a matchup with the first place team in the Salt Lake Valley League standings. Herriman scored three runs in the sixth to escape with a 4-1 win.
Anthony MacLean, a 2016 Carbon graduate, started on the mound and went the distance for manager Willie Ellington. After surrendering a run in the bottom of the first, MacLean settled down until Herriman scored the rest of its runs in the sixth.
According to Ellington, there were many chances for Price to escape with the upset.
“We left the bases loaded three times,” he said.
Brendan Johnson had two singles in the game and the lone RBI for Price. Jeter Tubbs had two singles as well. Kellen Trujillo had the other hit for Price. Price matched Herriman with five hits.
Price will welcome Judge this Friday at 6 p.m. at Carbon High School.
