Three local entrepreneurs visited the East Carbon City Council meeting Tuesday to request business licenses.
Gabriel Hunt requested two licenses. One was to start an independent record label and the second was to start a publishing company. Hunt planned to sell albums from his home via the Internet.
Angelo Marakis requested a license to start a handyman business.
Matthew Bullock requested a license that would allow him to build log benches at his house. Councilmen were concerned about fire hazards with lacquer as well as zoning ordinances. Councilmen said his home was in a residential zone, and manufacturing was not allowed in such an area.
Councilmen suggested Marakis get approval through the Planning and Zoning Board before they made their decision.
All other business licenses were approved.
Notes:
- Councilmen requested the City Attorney draft an ordinance prohibiting hunting within City limits. The request was made in response to public complaints at previous meetings.
