Payson hit nine three-point shots in an 81-59 home victory over Carbon on Tuesday.
Clay Finkbiner led Carbon with 14 points and Jordan Blanc added nine. Four Lions scored in double-digits, including a 25-point performance by Tanner Newbold.
Despite shooting three times as many free-throws as Payson, Carbon only managed to score four more points from the charity stripe. Carbon shot 11 of 27 and Payson shot 7 of 9.
Carbon fell to 7-4 overall and 0-1 in Region 12 play. Carbon next hosts Spanish Fork at 7 p.m. Friday in a game that will be broadcast live on ETV Channel 10.
