The Castle Dale Senior Center will host an AARP Driver Safety Class on Thursday, March 7 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. The four-hour class is designed for senior drivers to help them continue driving safely for longer. The course will discuss various topics, including the effects of vision, hearing, medications and reaction time, and how senior drivers can adapt to changes that occur as they age. Several short videos on different aspects of safe driving will enhance the presentation.
Also, the class will include discussions on the changes of the automobiles we drive, the roads we now drive on and the latest driving laws that have been passed to make us safer drivers. A certificate of completion will be given to participants that they present to their auto insurance company to receive a discount on their premium, which is good for three years. When both spouses complete the course, both will receive the discount. The cost of the course is $15 for AARP members, for others the cost is $20. Contact the center (435) 381-2422 to register.
