A pink party of hope and love was held at Miller’s Landing in Huntington on Monday.
The party was to honor women in the area who are currently going through breast cancer. Although the main emphasis was on breast cancer, cards were signed with messages of love and well-wishings to other women who have other types of cancer. Most of these women could not be in attendance at the party because of health issues.
A soup bar complete with rolls, vegetable trays, desserts and pink lemonade was enjoyed by friends and family of the honored guests. Cancer patients were each presented with a care basket filled with personal gifts to lift their spirits and show the love and support of the community.
Service leaves were posted on the wall so that those in attendance could choose acts of service to continue this spirit of caring.
Hostesses for the evening were Ashley Nielson and Courtney Justice. They were so grateful for the support of the community shown to them as they prepared for this evening.
“There were so many businesses and people who donated food and goods to help us with this special evening,” Justice said.
