BEAR Press Release
A presentation by Brett Jensen of Homewatch Caregivers will take place at the Castle Country Business Expansion and Retention general board meeting on June 20.
Homewatch CareGivers came to Utah in 2006. What started with a single office in Salt Lake City has grown to six offices providing personal care services throughout Utah. On May 1, the company’s Castle Valley office opened and has quickly expanded to provide services Carbon, Emery, Sanpete, Grand, San Juan and Sevier counties.
Homewatch CareGivers accepts most Medicaid programs as well as long-term care insurance, VA and private pay to provide in-home, personal care for people with special needs and disabilities. The goal of the company is to help people live comfortably in their own homes. The firm’s personnel can help with bathing, dressing, personal grooming and personal hygiene. In addition to personal care assistance, they can help with housekeeping, laundry, meal preparation and planning, and companionship for the most vulnerable residents in the community. The company serves people of all ages, from small children with special needs to teenagers and adults with disabilities.
Jensen, a registered nurse, is Homewatch Caregivers’ regional manager. Jensen was born at Castleview Hospital to Larry and LaRae Jensen. He graduated from Carbon High and held many service industry jobs until his grandmother suggested that he attend nursing school at the College of Eastern Utah. He passed his LPN nursing boards in 2008 and began working at Parkdale Care and Rehab. He continued working there as he completed his education and passed his RN nursing boards in early 2010.
Jensen said he has always striven to improve the quality of life for his patients and their loved ones. When he was introduced to home care, he came to realize that caring for people in their homes and improving the quality of life in that setting was the way to have the greatest impact on the community.
BEAR’s mission is to inform, grow and improve business in the Castle Country area. The meeting will start at 8 a.m. in the Jennifer Leavitt Student Center Alumni Room on the USU Eastern Campus and light refreshments will be served. Each general meeting never lasts more than one hour.
