The Carbon Lady Dinos kicked off the 2017-18 season at the Shannon Johnson Tournament in Vernal on Thursday, losing to Wasatch Academy 57-53.
Sophomore Jordan Bianco connected on six threes in the game en route to a team-high 20 points. Abbie Saccomanno was next with 13 points. Jodi Noyes added nine points and Makenna Blanc chipped in five, including a three pointer.
Carbon led out of the gate, taking a seven-point lead into the second quarter. The Tigers outscored the Dinos 45-34 the rest of the way.
Carbon (0-1, 0-0 Region 14) will next take on South Summit on Friday and then two games on Saturday against Mountain Crest and Uintah, both 4A teams.
