Members of the local chapter of Bikers Against Child Abuse went before the Emery County School Board Wednesday evening to ask permission to involve local school children in a charity T-shirt design contest.

The BACA Chapter will be hosting a fundraising ride in June 2012, and would like to involve the school children by having them submit their drawings to go on T-shirts for BACA’s charity.

The School Board approved the plan, and parents can expect information and forms to be available after the holidays.

Though the project will not be an official school activity, the school children can bring the forms home and then return them to school for pickup.

— In other news, the School Board also approved travel to the annual FCCLA competitions for local Junior High School students.

One competitions is a one-day event held at BYU forВ the eighth and ninth grade FCCLA members. Another two-day competition will be held for only ninth grade students.В
