Black Diamond Rodeo Crowns Queen

Young women recently competed for the Black Diamond Rodeo Queen crown. In the end, Alexis Louise Hall was crowned queen. Maya Anderson was selected as the first attendant while Kaitlyn Randall was named second attendant.

Hall is the 19-year-old daughter of Gary Hall and Elise Curtis. The Castle Dale resident took part in the Emery High Rodeo Club during her senior year. She has ridden horses throughout her life as well as competed in barrel racing, pole bending and rodeo queen contests. She graduated from Emery High in 2014 and now attends USU Eastern, where she will be leading this USU Eastern Student Ambassador team this upcoming year.

Anderson is the 18-year-old daughter of Kenny and Gwen Anderson.

“I love riding my horses and competing in all equestrian events,” Anderson explained. “I just recently graduated from Carbon High School and will be attending college at USU Eastern this fall. I am looking forward to a great rodeo this June 19 and 20.”

Randall is the 17-year-old daughter of Waco and Diane Randall of Elmo. She competes in countless hometown rodeos, barrel races and barrel racing clubs. After graduation, Randall plans on becoming a vet tech and professional horse trainer.

The Black Diamond Rodeo will take place on June 19 and 20. Gates open at 6 p.m. with mutton bustin’ at 6:30. Events begin at 7:30 p.m. each night.
