Bureau of Land Management Press Release
As Memorial Day weekend draws near, families, friends and adventurous loners are in search of the perfect campsite. While the BLM provides over 60 developed campgrounds across the state, the agency also allows for dispersed camping. These sites may be marked with a basic fire ring or an open tent area located off of BLM maintained roads. Camping is limited to 14 days in one location.
While celebrating this long weekend, remember to camp at least 200 feet from any water source, bring local firewood and follow leave no trace practices. Be sure to research the local field office’s dispersed camping practices before setting out on your trip.
