Emery County Business Chamber head Tyler Jeffs talked about the organization’s activities and goals Tuesday at the Emery County Commission meeting.

Jeffs said he was proud of what the Chamber has accomplished in less than one year.

“[We] established a good, active board that has been recognized by the state, and we’re grateful for the people on there,” Jeffs said. “We have had speakers from all over the state that have been gracious enough to come and spend their time with us.”

Jeffs said he was pleased with the recent Shop Local campaign and the effort that went into producing it and other ventures.

“We have been able to establish a website, and we are continually contacting businesses via social networks to keep them posed on the Lunch and Learns and open houses,” Jeffs said.

Jeffs asked Commissioners to continue to wave museum fees for the Lunch and Learns in 2012. Commissioners said they would discuss the issue.

The Chamber’s next Lunch and Learn will be Jan. 18 at the Museum of the San Rafael in Castle Dale.
