Fatty’s Pizza and Grill, formerly Big Mama’s Pizza and Deli, is under new ownership. Garrett and Stacey Conover recently purchased Big Mama’s and are currently in the process of making several changes to the restaurant, including the recent name change to Fatty’s Pizza and Grill.
Stacey has wanted to own her own restaurant for a very long time. She grew up watching, learning and working in her grandparent’s restaurant in Moab. Her dream has finally come true.
Garrett was the inspiration behind the new name of the restaurant as he is known to many by his nickname Fatty.
The Conovers have tried to keep many of the menu items the same as Big Mama’s, especially since many are customer favorites. They have added several new dishes to the menu, including some healthier items as well.
Fatty’s Pizza and Grill now serves crushed ice, dirty drinks and a variety of milkshake flavors.
Also new to Fatty’s is the drive through window. There is now no need to get cold running in to get a drink or shake, now customers can get it on the go in the comfort of their automobile.
The Conovers are still in the process of remodeling and have many plans for the interior as well as the exterior of the restaurant. Inside will be a country style theme with a bar to sit at to enjoy shakes or dine. The restaurant will also be adding a television so customers can watch while they dine.
In the spring, Fatty’s has plans to redo the parking lot, spruce up the landscaping and add outdoor dining.
Garrett and Stacy’s drive is in trying to keep business in Emery County and help support the economy.
