Owned by Todd and Sharene Muse, Pick & Rail Market in Helper has been offering a full-service supermarket to community members for two years. Todd, a native of the local area, is not a newcomer to the supermarket industry, bringing over 30 years of experience to the town of Helper.
“I am from Price and Carbonville,” Todd Muse said. ”I just wanted to provide a nice store for my hometown, a place to serve our family and friends fresh, wholesome foods.”
An Associated Foods store, Pick & Rail offers quality foods at an affordable price. Customers can find a fresh produce section, a variety of beverages, frozen foods, baked goods, quality dairy products and much more, including the highest quality meats in the local area, according to Muse.
“We are just trying to offer a clean, well-priced, well-merchandised store,” Muse explained. “Where you can come in and get what you need at a fair price.”
The local supermarket is managed by Muse’s life-long friend Todd Priano. Bringing 35 years of service in the grocery industry to the table, Priano has managed Pick & Rail since its opening nearly two years ago, lending much of his expertise to the meat department. With certified angus beef and sausages made in house, Priano and his son Chance cut all of Pick & Rail’s fresh meat products in store. Customers can also request special cuts or preorder for added convenience.
“It’s a nice, clean store that’s right here,” Muse said. “It’s nice and convenient and has everything you need at the right price.”
Customers will also find non-food products at Pick & Rail Market. The store offers propane, a hardware section, automotive products, school supplies and more. Pick & Rail also offers a wide array of tobacco products at great prices.
“When your shopping the store, you have all the offerings and the prices of the large corporate stores but it’s a different feel,” Muse said. “We have people from all over the county come for our small town service. Our entire friendly staff is here to serve you.”
Pick & Rail is located at 101 West 200 North in Helper. The store is open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days per week. The store closes only twice per year, once on Christmas Day and an early closing on Thanksgiving. Be sure to stop by often for new deals each week and fresh food arriving daily.
