The Hair Cellar has been in business for 16 years and owner Lisa Johnson has been a licensed cosmetologist since 1989. She worked in various salons for several years and took time off to raise her children. After that, she decided to open her own salon in the basement of her home in Orangeville.
Johnson has been interested in being a hair stylist since she was a young girl. She started experimenting with hair on her dolls as a child and when she was in seventh grade, she began cutting her friends’ hair at school.
The Hair Cellar offers many products and services such as hair care products by Matrix Biolage, Joico, Uniqone, Scruples, Retro Hair, MorrocanOil and American Crew for men. Her services include cuts, styles, colors, perms, highlighting, hair extensions and waxing.
Massage therapy is a new service offered at The Hair Cellar. Susan Kofford, owner of Pure Touch Massage Therapy, is a licensed massage therapist who comes to Orangeville once every one to two weeks . When Kofford is not at The Hair Cellar, she works at home or at Aznar Family Chiropractic in Orem.
The various types of massage Kofford offers is Swedish, deep tissue, lymphatic, maternity, hot stone, reflexology, cranial sacral, reiki and acupressure. She also offers trigger point massage therapy. A trigger point is a tight area with muscle tissue that causes pain in other parts of the body. The Hair Cellar also has tanning beds and customers can purchase tanning sessions. Johnson carries Doterra Oils and Vitamins as well.
The Hair Cellar is location at 65 East Center Street in Orangeville and is open by appointment only on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Tanning beds are open all week from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. Call (435) 748-2522 to make an appointment. Johnson also offers late appointment hours.
