DWR Press Release
CARBON COUNTY — On Feb. 15, 2016, officers from the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources received a report of nine Canada geese left in an area just north of the Emma Park Road in Carbon County, Utah.
Conservation Officer TJ Robertson responded and found nine Canada geese scattered near a gate leading to a Cooperative Wildlife Management Unit on the north side of the Emma Park Road in northern Carbon County.
The geese appeared to have been killed at a different location, and disposed of at this location. A subsequent investigation found the geese had been shot with a shotgun, and the necks of all the birds had been broken. The violators made no attempt to remove any meat. The birds were dumped and left to waste.
If you have any information that may assist officers in their investigation of this case, please contact Officer Robertson or the Utah Turn in a Poacher hotline at 1-800-662-3337 (DEER). Rewards may be available and reporting parties can remain anonymous.
