The annual Helper Arts Festival will once again feature a car show and burnout competition as well as a show and shine event August 13-15.

The show and shine will kickoff the car festivities on Thursday at 6 p.m. Car owners will start at Sherald’s in Helper (formerly Pistol Pete’s) to show off their cars. Drivers can then take part in an optional cruise around Helper City.

On Friday, members of the community are then invited to watch the annual burnout competition at Helper City Park at 6:30 p.m. For those interested in participating, registration for the burnout begins at 6 p.m. Winners will be announced at the event.

Wrapping up the annual festivities will be a car show on Helper Main Street from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. After registering from 8-10 a.m., cars will be on display for festival attendees. At 3:15 p.m., awards for the car show will begin.

“We want to thank Helper City and the city council for supporting the car show and our other events,” event organizer Ruth Metzger explained. “We would also like to invite everyone to attend the show and shine, the burnout and the car show.”
