The Carbon 11U All-Star team traveled to Vernal to take part in the Pacific Southwest Regional Tournament that began on Monday. The team earned the trip after winning the state title against Beaver on July 11 by a score of 10-3.
Carbon opened up pool play against Central California on Monday, a game it lost 9-2. The team followed up with another setback Tuesday against Southern California 12-5. Carbon will next play Vernal Wednesday evening at 7:30 before a bye on Thursday. The team will then play Northern Utah #2 Friday afternoon.
Carbon was placed in the Billy Ripken Pool for the tournament along with Northern Utah #2, Southern California #2, Central California and Vernal. The top two seeds from each pool will advance to a single elimination tournament, which will ultimately decide an overall winner.
