On Friday, the Lady Dinos traveled to play the West Panthers of Salt Lake City.
Carbon jumped out to an early lead with a 20-12 first quarter. They kept on the gas pedal in the second to go into halftime with a 14-point advantage, 33-19. The Lady Panthers tightened things up in the second half but never could outscore the Dinos. Carbon took the road game, 57-41, against its 5A opponent.
“We have definitely improved on both ends of the floor,” said Head Coach Ted Bianco. “Hopefully we can continue with the success we have and learn from our mistakes so can continue to improve.”
Jodi Noyes recorded a double-double with a game-high 23 points and 12 rebounds. Sophomore Makenna Blanc had a good game with 13 points as the Dinos shot 48% from the field. Carbon had 20 assists and 11 steals to go along with 14 turnovers in the game.
“We have some very important region match ups in the next few weeks that we need to be ready for. If they continue to play at a high level on the defensive end of the floor and do a good job of sharing and taking care of the ball they can definitely create a lot problems for our opponents. Should be fun to watch,” concluded Bianco.
The Lady Dinos (10-2, 3-0 Region 14) have another road game on Thursday when they will face-off in a region game against Maeser Prep (2-6, 0-2 Region 14).
