The Carbon Dinos Football team celebrated their homecoming week, leading up to the football game under the Friday night lights. The Dinos were coming into the game with a 3-4 record, and the Hawks were at 2-5.

North Sanpete would strike first in the first quarter, giving them the early lead. The Dinos defense held strong for the following two quarters, allowing only the touchdown and a field goals by the end of the third quarter. Carbon’s Anthony Wilson ran in a touchdown for Carbon, ending the third quarter with a score of 10-7.

Heading into the fourth quarter, The Hawks scored after a nice drive down the field, ending in a touchdown, extending the lead, 17-7. Following on the kickoff, the ball had come loose for the Dinos, giving the Hawks possession on great field position. The Carbon defense held strong, forcing a field goal, which was successful, as the Dinos now trailed by 13.

The Dinos would go four and out on their next drive, giving the Hawks the ball on the Dinos 30-yard line. But the Carbon defense was able to hold them off once again, forcing the turnover on downs. Unfortunately, on the Dinos first offensive play, the Hawks came down with the interception.

A few plays later, the Dinos came down with an interception after a batted pass by the defensive line, falling into the arms of Carbon. The game was dwindling down with two and a half minutes remaining in the game. The Carbon team was down 13, with the ball on their own five-yard line.

North Sanpete would gain control once again after a safety forced by the Hawk defense. The Hawks would score two more times in the last couple minutes, giving them the victory with a score that didn’t tell the full story, 36-7.

Carbon falls to 0-3 in the region, looking to get back to the winning ways, as they will welcome the Juab Wasps on Friday. The game will be broadcast live at etvnews.com/livesports.
