The Carbon Dino basketball team split a pair of weekend games in Fruita, Colo., falling to the host team in the Warrior Classic championship game.
Carbon dominated a Friday matchup against Central, Colo., winning 52-43. Derek Young and Tanner Gagnon led the Dinos with 15 and 14 points, respectively.
Despite a furious fourth-quarter rally, Carbon couldn’t overcome a poor free throw shooting and a 20-5 second-quarter deficit.
Clay Finkbiner topped nine Dino scorers with 15 points. Gagnon added 13 points and Jordan Young had 12.
Carbon next visits Tooele at 7 p.m. Friday.
