With Jordan Blanc on the bench nursing a bum knee, the Carbon Dinos needed an upset victory against a fourth-ranked Spanish Fork team to remain in playoff contention. After tying the game at 28 going into half, the Dinos couldn’t get it done, losing 62-54.
Bryce Blackburn led Carbon with 18 points on the night, but clutch free-throw shooting by the Dons late in the fourth quarter squashed any comeback plans of the Dinos.
CarbonВ (9-10, 2-5 Region 12) currently sits in a tie for fourth place in the region standings with Delta. The top four teams in each region will make it to the playoffs.
The Dinos will travel to Juab on Friday.
