Garrett Blanc and Jarod Lessar each scored two touchdowns in Carbon’s 30-12 win against Grand Friday night in Price.
In a game plagued by rain and a 25-minute lightning delay, the Dinos scored in every quarter and used its defense to secure their first victory since August 31, 2012 against Ben Lomond.
Blanc scored on a 52-yard touchdown reception in the first quarter and added a 58-yard interception return in the second to help Carbon to a 14-6 halftime lead. Lessar scored on runs of two and four yards, respectively, in the second half. With seven minutes to go in the game, lightning was seen with the area and officials sent the players to the locker room while the storm passed over.
The Dinos gave new head coach Jan Jorgensen his first win in as many tries Friday night and will look to go 2-0 at American Leadership Academy this Friday. North Sevier beat ALA 35-19 Friday night.
