Carbon High School’s band hosted a festival showcase concert last week to perform for family and friends the music they will feature throughout the month of March in various region music festivals.
Symphonic band performed three numbers, including “The Thunderer” by John Philip Sousa, “The Red Covered Bridge,” and “Arabian Dances.” The band will be performing this music at the upcoming competition.
Soloists Sarah Owhiler played “Canzonetta” on the clarinet, Chelby Frandsen on the marimba played “TearDrops” and Nollie Wilkinson on the trumpet with “Andante.” Each of these performers competed at Solo and Ensemble.
To end the evening, the percussion ensemble played “Millennium” and the jazz band performed number of songs.
