Carbon High FCCLA Wins Big at Region Competition

Carbon High School FCCLA members, under the advisement of Daphne Stockdale and Troy Chilcott, attended the region STAR Events leadership conference in Provo on Wednesday. Members created STAR (Students Taking Action with Recognition) events projects to focus on community service, awareness and research in various areas.

From the conference, nine students brought home gold, one student received silver and three received bronze.

Jordan Lupo and Crystal Nef competed in Chapter Service and received gold. Tiffany Kinder and Hailey Feichko combined as a team and competed in Entrepreneurship and received gold. Haylie Powell and SayDee Johnson were the next team and competed in Chapter in Review, receiving gold. Abby Robertson competed in Job Interview, bringing home another gold. Mason Rogers and Fawn Powell competed in Career Investigation as individual projects and both received gold. Jewelianna Nelson competed in Nutrition and Wellness and received gold.

Canden Stockdale competed in Leadership and received silver at the conference.

Gage Malmgren competed in Sports Nutrition, receiving a bronze for his project. Austin Richman-Rivas, Jackson Rosier and Tennysen Coon teamed up in Culinary Arts, receiving a bronze. Also teaming up for Culinary Arts was Frankie Schade, Glen Reed and America Meza, receiving a bronze.

Members who qualified for the state leadership conference will travel to Layton on March 20-21. They will gather with over 2,000 other FCCLA members from around the state, attending workshops and leadership sessions.
