The Dinos were back in Price on Friday for the season finale against Richfield. It marked a special night for the seniors, including Chet Anderson, Mason Vasquez, Ashton Ferguson and Braxton Stevenson, as it was the group’s final game on their home court.
As per tradition, the seniors were honored before the game for their hard work and dedication to the program. Then, it was time to switch focus onto the Wildcats.
It was a low-scoring game, with both teams taking care of the ball. Richfield, though, shot the rock at a higher clip (46%) and went into halftime with a 30-25 lead.
Unfortunately, Carbon’s shooting woes continued from there. The Dinos managed just 13 points the remainder of the game and fell 56-38. They struggled to get going on the offensive end and went 12-36 (33%) from the floor. Carbon was also out-rebounded 30-18, reducing its chances with possession.
Anderson scored a team-high 12 points while Ryker Butler led the squad with six rebounds. Stevenson also added five assists in the contest.
#12 Carbon (8-12) will now prepare for the state tournament. The Dinos have a tough test on Friday, facing #5 Morgan (15-6) on the road.
