When the Lady Dinos hosted the Maeser Prep Lions on Tuesday night, they knew that they were only one win away from clinching the Region 14 Title.
With that goal in mind, Carbon came out on a tear. They put up 24 points in the first quarter and 31 points in the second quarter while only giving up two points in each quarter. Coming out of halftime up 55-4, the Lady Dinos continued their great defensive game by blanking the Lady Lions in the third period of play. Carbon obliterated Maeser Prep by 64 points, 72-8, to clinch the Region 14 Title.
Jodi Noyes had a game-high 18 points and eight rebounds while Abbie Saccomanno followed closely behind with 17 points for the Lady Dinos. Junior Jordan Bianco recorded eight assists and seven steals on the night. As a team, Carbon had 28 steals to go along with 21 assists for its 12th straight win.
Carbon (17-2, 10-0 Region 14) has two remaining games on its schedule as it looks to remain undefeated in region. The Lady Dinos will travel to Union (9-8, 6-3 Region 14) on Tuesday, Feb. 5, to take on the Cougars. Then, they will return home for their senior night against ALA (3-11, 2-7 Region 14) on the following Thursday. The latter game will be broadcast live online and on ETV Channel 10.
