The Lady Dinos traveled to Snow Canyon High School for the first two rounds of the state playoffs on Saturday. The first game of the day proved tough for Carbon as they fell 6-1 to Stansbury. The ladies made up for the loss in the one-loss bracket as they shut out Morgan, 11-0, to keep the season alive.
Three home runs by Stansbury, the second seed from Region 11, powered the team to a win over Carbon on Saturday. The Dinos struggled to notch a run until the fifth, where they scored their only run in the game when Lauren Rice bashed a home run.
Pushed into the one-loss bracket, the Dinos faced Morgan, the fourth seed from region 10, for a chance to continue in the tournament. Carbon smashed the Trojans, taking the 11-0 win.
With the win, the Lady Dinos will continue in the state tournament on Thursday.
