The yearly Mountain Man Rendezvous, which is traditionally hosted on the lawn of the Carbon School District, was put on hold last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
This event is organized each spring by Karen and Paul Bedont, who were eager to bring the fun and education back for the end of the 2021-21 school year. Breaking from the classroom to learn in a hands-on way, elementary students were welcomed to experience the lives of many of their ancestors.
Students that participate in the rendezvous each year are educated on tomahawk throwing, archery, the trading and use of animals furs and skins, and much more. With a multitude of interactive stations, the students walk away with greater knowledge of the Native Americans and pioneers.
