Castle Dale City Councilmen approved Thursday the purchase of a half-acre land plot on Main Street from the Forest Service for $50,000.
Castle Dale City has been locked in a nine-year battle with the Forest Service over the land.
“I say we buy it,” Councilman Kollette Cologie said. “It has been way too long of a fight and, (Mayor Neal Peacock), you have worked hard.”
Councilmen also expressed pleasure over the cost. The City had saved $70,000 for the purchase.
