Castle Heights fifth grade students conducted a Christmas parade Friday morning. The students were able to construct their own floats. Some of the floats included decorative wagons, strollers and scooters.
Before the parade, fifth grade students read a book called “Maria: A Christmas Story.” Through this book, students learned that no matter how rich or poor a person is, anyone can participate in a Christmas parade. After completing the book, students were encouraged to participate in their own parade, which is an annual event at the elementary school.
All Castle Heights students were excused from class to watch the parade and gather candy that was passed out by parade participants. Parents were also invited to attend the event.
