Members of the Castle Valley Civic Ballet gathered on Thursday evening to present the opening night of “The Nutcracker.” This year marks the second annual performance by the dancers from Carbon and Emery counties.
The production follows a young girl, Clara, played by Kaylie “Bubba” Basso, along with her toy nutcracker through a magical winter journey. Characters come to life on stage thanks to the artistic direction of Stephanie Richards, director of the Castle Valley Civic Ballet. Kristena Hunsaker, Tori Frandsen and Rachel Allen assisted Richards in directing the performance.
“The Nutcracker” will continue on Friday and Saturday evenings at Mont Harmon Middle School at 7:30 p.m. General admission is $8, children 6 years and under are $4 and a group package of five tickets is $35. Tickets are sold at the door or at both Market Express locations and Chugg.
