Every ghost town has a history. Without preservation, these histories fade and are forgotten. Coal City is a ghost town with a fascinating past.
Through the efforts of the Utah Division of Wildlife Resources, Utah State Parks and many Carbon County partners and other interested parties, Coal City’s colorful history has been revived and is one view for all to see.
Please join the DWR on Sept. 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. for an open house reception that will showcase new interpretive panels at the Coal City site. The project’s partners will be on hand to talk about the project and the history of the town.
