Carbon County Attorney Gene Strate confirmed that charges have been filed in the July 7 rollover accident that claimed the life of Carbon County resident Brooke Kristine Tomadakis, 22. Strate explained that three counts were filed on September 7 against Alvin Clint Carter.

According to Strate, Carter age 27 from Magna, was the driver of the vehicle. Tomadakis was the center spot and Chad Wink, age 30 from West Jordan, was in the passenger seat. It appears that the trio was coming out of the Scofield area when a rear tire went off the road and the vehicle rolled three to five times. Everyone in the vehicle was injured with Wink remaining in the vehicle while Tomadakis and Carter were thrown from it.

A second vehicle, driven by Dusty Russell from West Valley, was following and tried to call for help. Unable to find cell phone reception, Russell drove to a Scofield gas station and made the 911 call. Tomadakis died at the scene.

After an extensive investigation, Carter has been charged with one third degree felony count of automobile homicide. He also faces charges for driving on a revoked license and failure to maintain control on a canyon road, both class c misdemeanors.

Strate said that no charges have been filed against Wink in the incident. Carter will appear before Judge George Harmond in the Seventh District Court on October 21.
