Press Release

St. George-based painter and printmaker Carol Bold will display her solo exhibition, “Color of the Wild,” at the John Wesley Powell River History Museum in Green River from June 21 through Dec. 18, 2021.

“This exhibition is the culmination of years in the making,” said Bold. “The entire body of work is in celebration of this unique and beautiful landscape we all live and play in. The exhibit will showcase around 50 original linocut prints and paintings, both old and new, and include many works that have never been on display to the public before. This is the kind of opportunity I have been dreaming about since moving to the Southwest over ten years ago, and I am thrilled to see it all finally coming together.”

The museum regularly works with regional artists to host temporary exhibitions showcasing the beautiful landscapes of the Colorado Plateau. These temporary exhibitions complement the museum’s permanent displays and give artists the chance to showcase their work in a venue that sees approximately 18,000 visitors per year.

“After a bit of a break, we are thrilled to welcome our guest curators back to the museum,” said Candice Cravins, the museum’s executive director. “Our guest curators bring so much to our museum and our community as a whole, and we plan to continue supporting these great collaborations and partnerships with our regional artists moving forward.”

Entrance to the exhibition is included with regular admission to the museum. The museum is open Monday through Saturday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
