Aaron Haeck, Genevieve Jewkes and other community members teamed up to help raise money for local domestic violence shelters. This fundraiser took place at Sherald’s Frosty Freeze on Saturday.
All raised funds will be used to help local domestic violence victims become more independent from their abuser. Some of the items to help do so include clothing, monetary aid for house or apartment payments, and other necessities that may be needed or helpful.
Domestic violence affects one in three in Utah, which is above the national average of one in four.
The domestic violence shelters are always open to receive donations. To make a donation, call the crisis number at (435) 637-6589. Shelter workers will help guide callers through different ways to donate to these facilities.
