On Friday, March 1, everyone in the community was invited to the Carbon County Event Center for a spaghetti dinner and cornhole tournament fundraiser for Jake Vigor.
Dinner went from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. while cornhole began around 6 p.m. To accompany the exciting events taking place, there was a cash bar for all those who bought a wristband in order to enjoy beverages. There was also a silent auction for anyone to bid on. Many items were donated to the silent auction, from camping gear to cornhole boards.
A large portion of the auction were handmade masterpieces. For the children who accompanied family and friends to the event, there was face painting. This put bright smiles on little kids’ faces as they ran around the event, showing off the painted perfection.
One woman at the event had a conversation about how impressive it has been to see a community come together for an occasion such as this. She also commented on how dependable the people in the community are, stating that they’re always willing to help others in whatever struggling situation they seem to be in.
