The blanket of fog that has been covering the area since Thanksgiving Eve, did nothing to smother the enthusiasm of 80 runners/walkers as they participated in the 5th annual Thanksgiving Day Turkey Trot.
Each participant brought at least one can of food to be donated to the Carbon County Food Bank. There was no other entry fee or sign up required.
The Turkey Trot is a non-competitive event that allows people to get together to burn off a few calories before gathering with family and friends. The course is marked from the Carbon County Event Center to Pinnacle Peak and back for a total of eight miles. Each half mile was marked along the way allowing participants to choose the distance they felt comfortable going. Approximately, 20 people made it all the way to Pinnacle Peak and back.
The event continues to grow each year and is already planned for next Thanksgiving day.
