At 9:30a.m. while completeing a routine check of the Cedar Mountain Site, Mike Behling, Engineer Manager for Emery Telcom, found their location had been the focus of yet another copper theft.
The Cedar MT. site was one of many major microwave sites for the company, and the cost of stolen goods is currently estimated over $1,000.
” I was doing my routine check and when I entered the building, I noticed things were not as I had left them. When I entered the back room I discovered all the ground copper wire had been cut as well as the copper wire connecting the generator,” Behling explained.
After further investigation Behling discoverd the generator battery was also missing.
Emery Telcom is now offering a $5,000 reward for information that will lead to the arrest and conviction of those responsible for this crime. If you have any leads please call the Emery County Sheriff’s Office at (435)381-2404, or the Emery Telcom business office at (435)748-2223.
