On-air personality Corina Macknight was recently nominated for the award of General Manager of the Year for the Radio Wayne Awards.
Part of the morning Buzz on KUSA FM100, MacKnight teams up with Frank Ori to bring entertainment to the morning radio. Her nomination for the national award was chosen along with a select few to be in the running for general manager of the year.
“Corina’s dedication, perseverance and intelligence is admired and respected at KUSA and KSLL,” Amanda Holley from the Tony Basso Group explained. “Her creativity, compassion and ability to inspire continues to amaze and encourage her fellow employees each and every day. She leads through example and there is no one we feel deserves this award more. We wish you luck Corina.”
As part of the nomination, MacKnight has been invited to attend the National Association of Broadcaster and Radio Advertising Bureau’s Radio Show, which will be hosted in Indianapolis Sept. 10-12.
“The Radio Show is the largest industry event of the year focused exclusively on radio and customized for radio professionals at every level and in every market size,” the show’s website explained. “It offers an exclusive yet familiar networking environment for industry professionals with unparalleled opportunities to learn new revenue generating strategies, interact with key decision makers, see the latest technological innovations and enjoy a variety of special events featuring thought leaders who are shaping the future of radio.”
MacKnight will attend this event to represent her accomplishments as general manager, attend workshops and learn more about the radio business. On Sept. 11, the Radio Wayne Awards will be given in a number of categories, including the general manager award.
“The Radio Wayne Awards are named in honor of “Radio Wayne” Cornils, who set a high example for professionalism in radio,” radioink.com stated. “A successful small-market radio broadcaster, Cornils also served as executive vice president of the Radio Advertising Bureau and SVP/Radio at the National Association of Broadcasters. The Radio Wayne Award is a Radio Ink award and is not affiliated with the RAB.”
