Creekview Elementary students rallied together during a school-wide food drive prior to the holidays. Thousands of cans of food were gathered for the Carbon County Food Bank.
After all donations were gathered, students were given the opportunity to build figures out of food cans. The idea came from the organization called CANstruction, which promotes competitions and exhibits across the country that showcase structures made entirely of cans.
Teachers from each class selected one student to participate on a team to work with an adult to build an elaborate structure. These students worked with one another and a parent helper on Tuesday to create a display to be shared with the entire school on Friday.
Following the CANstruction showcase, all food items will be donated to the Carbon County Food Bank.
