Students at Creekview Elementary benefit from the STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) education program throughout the year. Last week, third grade students were treated to a science activity conducted by Mr. Chiara and Mr. Swasey.
Students learned the concept of lifting heavy objects with the assistance of a pulley system. One such system was set up in the school gym to allow the students the opportunity to see science in action.
Several volunteers were hoisted into the air by classmates and teachers. Principal Jim Thomas was also lifted into the air by one third grade class.
Various other projects, experiments and activities are conducted throughout the year to enhance students’ understanding of science, technology, engineering and math-related subjects.
