Creekview’s Jared Chiara awarded February Apples for Teacher Honor

Creekview Elementary’s Jared Chiara was honored with KUSA and KASL “Apples for Teachers Award” at the Carbon County School District board meeting on Wednesday.

Chiara is a fourth grade teacher. He was nominated by Katie Jones, a student in his classroom. Frank Ori and Corina Otani from KUSA Radio were on hand to present the award. Jones was invited to read the letter she wrote to nominate Chiara in front of school board members.

Each month, a teacher of the month is chosen and wins a plaque for their office and a caramel apple from Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory. Then, at the end of the school year, one of those teachers will be chosen as teacher of the year and receives a brand new Apple i pad.

The student who nominated the chosen teacher also receives a caramel apple. If their teacher wins the IPad, that student will also win an Apple i Pod.

KUSA and KASL want to recognize these teachers for their efforts, but they need your help Please nominate your favorite teacher by sending a short email describing why you think your teacher should be teacher of the year.
