Carbon County Personnel Assistant Kellie Payne took time to present the December Employee of the Month at the commission meeting on Wednesday evening.

This month, the honor was presented to Daniel Luke with the road shop. Luke has been with the county for over a year, beginning in Sept. of 2020. County Tourism Specialist Tina Henrie was the one that nominated Luke and spoke on how he was instrumental in the help for everything that has been happening in Nine Mile Canyon.

Luke worked on the project in many ways, including meeting with the Bureau of Land Management and being present on the project to help with installations, taking photos for the press release and more. He asked a lot of questions to have thorough information on the project.

“He never complained, he was right there whenever I needed him,” said Henrie.

Luke accepted the honor and stated that it is a pleasure to work in Carbon County and to interact with all of the different departments. He credited the work between the road department and others to be phenomenal.

Commission Chair Tony Martines then spoke briefly on Luke and the rest of the department, stating that the improvements that have been completed and implemented by Luke have been recognized and appreciated, from both him and the rest of the staff.
